Diagnostic Services (SLP)
Diagnostic services are available to clients of all ages through weekly outpatient clinics conducted at the USUSLHC. These services are provided by advanced students who are directly supervised by appropriately certified faculty members. Most diagnostic outpatient appointments require one to three hours to complete, depending on the type and extent of the client’s disorder. The evaluations typically consist of a parent or client interview for obtaining pertinent information, a battery of diagnostic procedures, a final conference with the client or parent to discuss results and recommendations, and a written report of the findings. Specialized diagnostic equipment may be utilized to diagnose certain types of communication disorders, such as voice and resonance.
